What is in an Estate Plan? We’re glad you asked.

  • A Will

A will sets out what you want to happen to your assets and possessions after you die.

It appoints a person/s to be your executor, as well as a guardian if you have children under 18.

  • Enduring Power of Attorney

An Enduring Power of Attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to manage your finances, assets and legal affairs on your behalf if you become lose capacity to do so either permanently or temporarily.

  • Advance Care Directive

An Advance Care Directive appoints a person/s you trust to make healthcare decisions for you if you lose capacity.

It also allows you to record your wishes in relation to future health care.

  • Superannuation

Superannuation does not automatically form part of your estate when you die. This makes it an important part of the estate planning conversation, as most super funds allow you to nominate who will receive your superannuation after your death. We will discuss this with you.

  • Letter of Wishes

This is a personal letter you write to your executors outlining your more personal wishes.

It allows you to record instructions for guardians as well as your funeral and burial wishes.
